Bursty Concurrency: spikes run up to 3x your limit

We've added bursty concurrency for Pro and above accounts. When steps need more concurrency than your account limit, Inngest raises that limit to 3x for up to 60 minutes a month.

Three bursts raise a concurrency limit of 100 toward a ceiling of 300 and use up the monthly hour

  • Size — Each burst starts at 3x your account concurrency limit.
  • Counting — The budget is 60 minutes. Each minute in which steps run above your limit spends one minute, however many steps start.
  • Refill — The budget resets every month, at a time unique to your account.
  • Notifications — Admins receive an email at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the budget.
  • Billing — Bursts are not charged. Add concurrency on your billing page if you use the full hour.

Function-level concurrency you set overrides a burst, so a function with its own limit does not burst.
