Inngest
Runningstatusstill going โ while you grab coffee
stepstep.sleep("20m")
logfunction parked โ clock is still ticking
Watch the episode
Four hours. Three teams. Two days. And one glimpse into the potential hellscape that might await us if the agents take over (you gotta watch to understand).
Meet the teams
Learn how each pair used Inngest to build durable agents that keep running no matter what.

01
Off the Bench
- Syscily
- Nadira
Off the Bench is an app that lets players and coaches make asynchronous updates to schedules and locations for rec team leagues.

02
Meatbags
- Brian
- Scott
Meatbags is my nightmare (the app not the team). An agentic manager that provides demoralizing feedback in real time? Help.

03
Mailbug
- Business Goose
- Eli
Email sucks. Mailbug to the rescue. This app analyzes emails and intelligently sorts by real priority and impact, so you don't have to.

Start building
Same stack the teams used on set: a quickstart, a function that sleeps and waits, and the docs for the primitives behind it.
Starter code
inngest.createFunction({ id: "keep-going" },{ event: "challenge.started" },async ({ step }) => {await step.run("start-the-thing", startIt)await step.sleep("grab-coffee", "20m")await step.waitForEvent("the-world-happened", {event: "challenge.continue",timeout: "7d",})await step.run("finish-it", finishIt)}
How it works
How does Inngest keep your code running?
Workers? Queues? State Machines? You don't have time for all that. Inngest lets you wrap existing code in steps that dictate how it should behave during any event, at any scale. If your workflow dies, a deploy ships, or you're waiting on a response, your run pauses, resumes, and retries only what didn't finish. Zero extra infra required.

From the set
Snapshots from Portland
A few of our favorite moments on set with the CodeTV team. Huge thank you to the contestants, and production team that made magic!
Build the thing that keeps going.
Write the function. Walk away. Inngest keeps the work running โ through a crash, after an event, while you're off doing something else.
Free tier ยท No workers to babysit
