Platform
Platform & operations
Operate workflows, Sandboxes, Agent Evals, and Realtime together from one Inngest account.
Set up where your code runs, keep credentials safe, see what each run did, and recover when something fails.
See what happened
Inngest records traces for every run without extra instrumentation. Start with Observability:
- Inspect events and runs: trace a failed run back to its event and step.
- Traces: follow each step, wait, and retry in one run.
- Metrics: spot changes in volume or failures.
- Insights: query historical data with SQL.
Manage and recover
Recover runs, stop work during an incident, and manage keys. See Manage and recover:
- Rerun a run: recover one run.
- Replay runs in bulk: recover a selected set of runs.
- Bulk cancellation: stop many existing runs at once.
- Pause and resume functions: stop new runs during maintenance or an incident.
- Keys and access: use an event key to send events, a signing key to secure requests between Inngest and your app, and an API key for the REST API.
- Rotate event and signing keys: replace a key without downtime.
Connect other services
Trigger functions from database changes and send metrics to your monitoring stack. See Integrations:
- Neon: start functions when rows change in Neon Postgres.
- Datadog: send Inngest metrics to Datadog.
- Prometheus: scrape Inngest metrics into Prometheus or Grafana.
Organize apps and environments
- Apps and syncs: group the functions you deploy together. Keep each app ID stable so Inngest can track its functions across deploys.
- Environments and branch deploys: separate production, staging, and preview deployments, each with its own apps, events, and run history.
- Local Development: run and test functions on your machine.
Deploy and connect apps
Your function code runs on your infrastructure, such as AWS, Google Cloud, Vercel, or Cloudflare. Inngest triggers runs and records their progress.
- Deploying functions: serve an HTTP endpoint with
serve(), or use Connect on a long-running worker. - Cloud architecture and security: see where Inngest coordinates runs and how it protects the connection.
- Self-host Inngest: run the Inngest server on your own infrastructure. Check its feature scope first.
Control load
- Flow control: set concurrency, throttling, or rate limits on the functions that need them.
- Limits and pricing: check them before you go to production.
- Troubleshooting: fix failed runs and apps that don't sync.
Related
- Sandboxes: run code in an isolated microVM within a durable run.
- Agent Evals: attach scores to runs and compare variants.
- Realtime: publish updates to connected clients.
